  I have an honest question!

  it's with regards to disfellowshipping.. is disfellowshipping a legal procedure?

  like is there something i can use to prevent this from happening to me if it does happen.. no jokes about me being a bad little boy.

  i need honest answers to this.

  It's being conditioned to be conditional. I will love you if only you do this... or don't do that.

  Most parents have uncondtional love for their children, but when you are told obey obey obey, you'll serve your God without question and that would include shunnig your children if the WT tells you to do so. If your children did something that the WT has told you is wrong, you will uphold God's laws or WT interruptations of laws.

  Worldly people love their children even when they have done wrong. exJWs love their children even when they've done wrong. JWs turn their children into the elders and let the shit hit the fan. I know, I was one of them. I'd never again confide in the elders if my life depended on it. They reproved mine for things and then I'd learn others did the same or far worst and got nothing, it was swept under the rug. sweetie, youre gonna wake up to just more than "you want to do things your own way". Your life as a JW will change as you learn more.. the lies you've been taught, your views of the world will change. EVerything you've trusted will be gone. But in the long run, your life will be yours! You can control your life. You just have to learn how to not let WT, elders etc guilt or shame you.

  the lives of the people of arcadia, missouri, are forever changed when their deceased loved ones return.. .

  so far it seems to be an interesting take on the subject.

  saving mr. banks is not about mary poppins exactly, not the one we know.

  in this movie we come to see who she was to the author through flashbacks that become so entwined with the adult author, a bitter and negative woman, that mary p.'s purpose becomes clear at last and not the disney factory model.

  if you haven't seen it, a speech disney gives to her is phenominal in my opinion.

  I thought it was for children, Glad I didn't take any kid with me. I was disappointed. Yes the story was good, but didn't want to see drunks, death and Disney in one sitting. I cried at the end. Didn't leave feeling good :(

  What a change from your first few posts. If you are serious, then I'm sure you'll get lots of support.

  It only took reading one post here last year to wake me up. Only 1 post. I never would have thought I'd be where I am now a year or two ago.

  I was struggling spiritually, but never thought I'd give up family and friends for my freedom. FP, do your research, find your reasons for leaving. Make sure cause once you start, it will be hard to go back. Esp if elders realize youre mentally out. Prepare for the questions and the witch hunt that will come. Some here have faded very easily, some like me have had elders even watching my family members at their jobs. Don't think they won't do this or that... READ READ READ, Educate yourself. Then Good Luck!

  If you are able to move, as young as you are, go for it... If you still live at home, save money, get a job... look into education. You have to make an escape plan, period.

  You'll be lucky if you can keep your friends, and by all means DONT TRUST ANYONE> You might think you could confide in your closest friend but they'll go to an elder faster than you think.

  FP, every situation is different. She apparently was more popular at the time and some just can't let go of those types of ppl in their lives. She may have work contacts, or does she have an elder father, grandfather etc?? I've seen the same treatment. I can miss meetings and get shunned and labeled. But it takes another family over a year or two before ppl realize they've faded. Everyone still talks to them and greets them when seen locally. Even hangs out with friends. just like your gal. I don't know the answers but it sure makes one feel that JW are very judgemental and choice and pick who they want to associate with...

  Has lurking on this site opened your eyes? Or are you finding out just what fading is, how ones do it only to identify those in your congregation who might be trying to fade?? It's not hard to find on search how one fades... I just want you to be honest with us. :)

  We tried to fade, and it's been hard. Our kids are shunning us now because we've not been to a meeting. The elders have been on a witchhunt of late. and WT seems to be putting into full force advising members not to associate with non-jw family members and those gone in-active. So the fade is harder I think, IMO, now then it was 2-4 yrs ago.

  FP, are you just asking why the sister gets association, or are you wondering about yourself if you decide to fade?

  Who will run the "earthly organization" after GB is raptured?

  i guess the gb feels after they are raptured that their work is done since the new scrolls will be open by yhwh.. oh wait my bad - it will be by the local elders since they said a few wt studies ago that in so many words you better listen to the elders whether it makes sense or not.. if power and the use of the internet after armaggdon will pretty much be dead since those who operate it will be gone-.

  There will be a new secret elders book with instructions on how to organize our society. Everything from selecting the houses of the rich for themselves to how to clear out a abandoned store, it won't be looting then, but unrightous riches. Our cars will still work but will have to siphon from other cars (owned by dead)... and make sure we carry ammo... oh never mind, I'm thinking "Walking Dead". Opps.

  Just suppose the GB decided.........

  now, i know this is preposterous, in fact totally an unbelievable hypothesis, but what if the gb decided that to go more mainstream and pick up more suckers, sorry, converts, they had received new light that the basic idea of the trinity was true.. obviously they could not be as blatant about it so as to say something like the various creeds say, but i can see a way that they could teach something that was more akin to mainstream christianity, and would make them seem less wacky-weird in comparison.. how on earth would the old-school dubs react ?

  it would shake them up so much !.

  i know this is far-fetched, but i do see them doing something similar eventually, some years down the line, when they are running out of cash.

  well... as they say on talk back radio "i'm a long time listener, first time caller"(poster in this case!).

  i have been a "lurker" for several years, but never had the courage to take the step and join up...until now.. i really want to thank everyone for their insights and comments throughout the forum.

  although i have not contibuted to discussions, i have benefitted very much from all of your comments and observations on all topics.

  look forward to reading more from you. I've noticed lots of joins of 2013 and 2014. I wish more would post and present themselves too. I'm curous how many lurkers are new. I joined in Dec 2013, just after reading a post linked from google on beards. Now were out. If it wasn't for this board and jwfacts, I'd probably still be in and miserable.
